Total building permits issued for residential units increased 5.5% from September to October, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
New Jersey posted an increase in issuance of residential building permits, while permits fell in Delaware and Pennsylvania, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
Total building permits issued for units in Delaware fell 4.7% and 7.0% in Pennsylvania.
However, issuance of residential building permits rose 2.9% in New Jersey.
On a year-over-year basis, growth in permit issuance remained positive throughout region and nation.
The Philadelphia Fed applied a seasonal adjustment and three-month moving average to total permits to remove the seasonality and monthly volatility in permits.
