Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke told ABC news anchor Diane Sawyer that it’s too early to declare economic victory, but he’s feeling better and sleeping better, too.
And in case you wondered, Bernanke doesn’t mind being called a nerd, the Fed chief said in an interview with ABC News.
In fact, he believes nerds create more jobs, and America needs more of them with unemployment still lingering at 8.3%.
The Fed chief warned escalating gas prices could hinder growth and long-term unemployment remains a substantial risk given how difficult that cycle has been on those who lost jobs during the downturn.
