Gross purchases of agency mortgage-backed securities rose to $21.3 billion this week, up from $17.1 billion last week, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Meanwhile, the central bank sold $5.1 billion of agency MBS this week, while net purchases of MBS totaled $16.2 billion for the same time period.
