Gross purchases of mortgage-backed securities hit $17.3 billion this week, slightly down from last week, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Meanwhile, the central bank sold $2.2 billion of agency MBS.

Additionally, net purchases of agency MBS amounted to $15.1 billion for the same time period, unchanged from last week.
