After losing homes to foreclosure, borrowers bounce back

During the housing dust-up, 4.8 million borrowers lost their properties to foreclosure. Another 2.2 million went through short sales.

Yet, all hope is not lost for these families. Since 2010, they’ve been nursing their credit scores back to solid health, and the prognosis so far is good.

Some of them are now fully recovered and back in the market, looking to buy real estate again.
