NRP Group breaks into Atlanta market

Multifamily company cites job growth, transportation and strong economy as reasons for move

The NRP Group, a multifamily company, is breaking into the Atlanta market.

NRP just hired Johnson Bazzel as vice president of development for its newly minted Atlanta division, and the company says this is part of its larger efforts toward increasing its footprint in the Southeast.

NRP cites Atlanta’s status as a major transportation hub exhibiting explosive job growth and a strong economy as its reasons for setting up shop in the city.

Over its 23-year lifespan, NRP has built over 33,000 units, and it currently manages more than 17,000 units.

"We are thrilled to have Johnson join our team," NRP Group Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer J. David Heller said in a statement.

"Johnson has a proven track record developing unique large scale urban and suburban multifamily communities that build on our national expertise and will accelerate our Atlanta market expansion," he added.

Prior to joining NRP, Bazzel was vice president of development for Wood Partners where he was responsible for all phases of multifamily and mixed-use deals. In his new role, he will be responsible for site acquisition, design, equity and debt capital raising, as well as management of the construction and sale processes for NRP.

"Atlanta is my home and I'm extremely excited to continue to play a role in the urban renaissance taking place in our city," Bazzel said in a statement.

"While new to Atlanta, The NRP Group is respected throughout the nation's multifamily sector, and I look forward to playing an integral role in growing the company's presence in the Southeast."
