Kristie Washington is the mortgage application magician. She oversees the lightning-fast digital mortgage approval and closing platform that allows homebuyers to complete their loan applications within eight minutes and get approval within one business day.

Washington got her start in the industry making copies in the shipping department of Gateway Mortgage after graduating high school. From there, Washington gained valuable compliance expertise at the law firm Robertson and Anschutz.

At Mid America, Washington was tasked with launching Click n’ Close, and thanks to her contributions, the launch has gone swimmingly. In the two weeks leading up to Click n’ Close’s launch at this year’s Daytona 500, web traffic to the application site soared 900% and hit an all-time high during the race. Marketing initiatives she and her team spearheaded have generated a click-thru rate of 0.98%, compared with the industry average 0.25%, resulting in a 5.27% conversion rate.

Washington’s has earned the respect of her company for her commitment to leadership and her ability to develop highly skilled staff. To date, she has helped innumerable junior associates get their footing in the industry, producing the cream-of-the-crop underwriters, closers, processors and LOs.
