CFPB Fills Two More Senior Leadership Posts

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has filled two more senior leadership posts, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced.  Sendhil Mullainathan was selected to serve as Assistant Director for Research and Patrice Alexander Ficklin will serve a Assistant Director for Fair Lending.

Mullainathan, a professor of economics at Harvard University, and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, is a co-founder of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab and board member of the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development.

Ficklin previously worked at Fannie Mae where she provided fair lending, fair housing, and other consumer law advice regarding mortgage products, pricing, and servicing.  Most recently, she has practiced at the civil rights law firm of Relman, Dane & Colfax addressing civil rights issues in lending, employment and housing.

As the CFPB continues to fill out its leadership team heading toward their July 21st official launch date, a director to lead the bureau has yet to be nominated.
