One property in Miami, with a very notorious former owner, is being leveled right now.
Demolition began this morning on the mansion formerly owned by Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, the main character in the popular Netlix series, Narcos.
According to coverage on NBC6 in South Florida, the current owners, Chicken Kitchen owner Christian de Berdouare and his wife, former NBC 6 anchor Jennifer Valoppi, purchased the home in 2014 and are destroying the building to make way for a new home.

However, the station reveals that recent thefts are under investigation:
"On Tuesday, Jan. 12, just one week before demolition was set to begin, a handyman discovered that aside from the grill and generator, thieves had stolen a 10-inch round metal safe previously hidden under a staircase in the home."
What did the safe hold? We may never know.
One thing is for sure, the safe did NOT hold the deed to the mansion, as this report says Escobar paid only $10 for the property.
Nonetheless, local NBC6 reporter Michael Spears is on the scene shooting some footage of the wreckers in action.
No word if the safe was made from either silver or lead. (You’ll get the joke at the 20 second mark in the below video)
