More MLSs give Zillow direct home listings

Continues efforts to counter pending loss of ListHub data

With ListHub-provided listings set to disappear from Zillow (Z) in just over a month, the Zillow Group is continuing in its efforts to secure listing agreements with multiple listing services to provide listing data directly to Zillow.

Zillow announced Wednesday that February proved to be a very fruitful month in terms of securing direct listing agreements with MLSs, with 25 new MLSs agreeing to join Zillow’s Partnership Platform in the month.

As part of Zillow’s Partnership Platform, MLSs and their members will have the ability to provide listing data directly to Zillow as part of the brokers’ online marketing activities, Zillow said.

Through the Zillow Partnership Platform, real estate agents will be “prominently displayed” as the listing agent on all of their listings and be able to receive leads directly from Zillow, Zillow added.

Zillow has been seeking to establish direct connections with MLSs since it announced it was canceling its listing agreement with ListHub in January. When the listing agreement ends on April 7, any ListHub-provided listing will disappear from Zillow.

Zillow Group, which includes Zillow and Trulia, is currently involved in a legal battle with Move over Move-owned ListHub’s decision to terminate its listing agreement with Trulia, but Zillow has also been busy attracting MLSs to its platform.

Zillow has secured listing agreements with several large MLSs since announcing the cancelation of the ListHub agreement. Most recently, the Georgia Multiple Listing Service signed a listing agreement with Zillow.

"The demand from the industry to build a direct relationship with Zillow has been incredible and the momentum is picking up," Curt Beardsley, Zillow vice president of industry development, said upon announcing the 25 new members.

"We have seen a tremendous response from MLS and industry leaders who want to ensure their listings are on Zillow in a timely and accurate fashion, and know a direct feed is the best way to guarantee it,” Beardsley continued. “We look forward to demonstrating the value a direct relationship with Zillow provides to their members."

According to Zillow, the 25 new members are:
