Forsythe Appraisals, a provider of residential real estate appraisals,has added Richard Shackelford as vice president of business development.

In the new role, Shackelford will be responsible for the successful growth of both local and national client opportunities and brand recognition for the company.

Shackelford has also been tasked with the overall development of revenue generating business opportunities related to residential valuations assignments, collateral litigation and appraisal consulting support, retrospective property evaluations and collateral desk and field reviews.

“Rich has a vast amount of business management, territory management, B2B relationship management, appraisal management and mortgage lending experience which we know will be invaluable as he takes ownership of our national sales efforts,” said Forsythe Appraisals CEO John Forsythe.

Prior to joining Forsythe, Shackelford was most recently executive vice president of sales and marketing for IRR-Residential, where he was responsible for establishing and overseeing the success of the national sales team and overall client growth.

“Rich brings to the appraisal business a unique perspective, tremendous knowledge, and many strong relationships from his years in the industry,” Forsythe added. “He understands the issues facing the mortgage marketplace, and that will prove to be tremendously beneficial in helping us achieve our business development objectives throughout the rest of this year and for many years to come.”
