Oregon foreclosures surge in July

Filings increase by 88% from last year

Mortgage servicers stepped up their game, filing more foreclosures in the state of Oregon last month, according to a report in The Oregonian.

Lenders filed nearly 1,500 notices indicating pending foreclosures in Oregon’s seven largest counties. The numbers, compiled from county records by Eugene foreclosure reseller Gorilla Capital, show an 88% increase from a year earlier — a month with few foreclosures due to legal changes for foreclosures  — and a 23% increase compared with June, the Oregonian reported.
