PLI releases the Covered Bonds Handbook in the Wake of Financial Reform

After the advent of covered bonds through the House of Representatives on July 29, it seems only appropriate to study up. The Practising Law Institute (PLI), the nation’s leading provider of continuing legal education, announced Tuesday the release of a new book, previewed briefly by HousingWire last Thursday, that they claim is the first comprehensive treatise on an important financing alternative. Covered Bonds Handbook, written by expert contributors from around the world, shows why covered bonds have been major financial in Europe and discusses proposed Congressional legislation could institute the entire covered bonds system in America. PLI said the editors Anna T. Pinedo and James R. Tanenbaum, leading authorities in finance, illuminate the benefits of covered bonds, examine their potential advantages over securitization and comparative funding costs, and explain how covered bonds are currently strutted throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. Covered Bonds Handbook incorporates credit rating agency studies and reports, the texts of FDIC Interim and Final Policy Statements on covered bonds, Treasury Department Best Practices for Residential Covered Bonds, UK covered bonds reference materials, and sample U.S. covered bonds documents. The book costs $345. Write to Christine Ricciardi. The author holds no relevant investments.
