Paul Ryan: Vegas foreclosures are not acceptable

Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan, R-Wis., told Nevada residents the state’s high foreclosure count and soaring unemployment rate is not acceptable and a direct reflection of the president’s failed economic policies.

While visiting Las Vegas, Ryan addressed a crowd of supporters, saying Nevada is suffering under the Obama administration, citing housing issues and the state’s foreclosure crisis as examples.

“You deserve better than that,” The Wall Street Journal quotes Ryan as saying. “Of all the places that need jobs, that need home values to rebound, it’s Nevada.”

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney also used Nevada as a backdrop to discuss housing and foreclosure issues last year.

Last October, Romney criticized the president for slow walking the foreclosure process back while speaking to the Las Vegas-Review Journal.

“Let it run its course and hit bottom,” Romney told the paper in a video interview. “Allow investors to buy homes, put renters in them, fix them up and turn them around.”
