North Texas housing bounces back

Homeowners and real estate agents in Fort Worth said that the housing market seems to be “bouncing back,” according to a local area news article, published in the Star Telegram.

North Texas home sales dropped in June 2010, but have since slowly climbed with recent numbers being the exclamation point for the recovery process.

Existing home sales are up 16% from last year in the North Texas region, while the median selling price stands 7% higher, states the text, citing several data sources.

“People are seeing a better bang for their buck in buying new,” real estate agent Lucy Puniwai said. “It’s definitely a buyer’s market. If you can be flexible with what you want and need, we can find you a house that can make you happy.”

The article goes on to cite a report from Texas A&M University’s Real Estate Center, which states that Texas has the most affordable homes in the nation and Fort Worth is the most affordable metro area in the state.
