Newcastle Investment raises $200 million to acquire real estate securities, loans

Newcastle Investment Corp., a firm that invests in real estate assets, raised $200 million in a recent sale of 40.2 million shares of common stock.

The investment firm plans to use proceeds from the sale to cover corporate expenses and fund the acquisition of senior housing properties – including CDO debt, real estate securities and loans.

BofA Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse Securities and UBS Securities served as joint book-running managers for the offering.
