Nevada AG confirms request to undo Countrywide settlement

Nevada’s attorney general has asked to undo a settlement with Bank of America Corp.’s (BAC) troubled Countrywide home mortgage unit, claiming the bank has repeatedly violated the agreement to help homeowners in danger of foreclosure. The state’s amended court complaint, which was reported by the New York Times and ProPublica late Tuesday, accuses the mortgage servicing and origination company of failing to comply with a wide-ranging deal it reached with state officials in October 2008.
