NeighborWorks America named Charles “Chuck” Wehrwein chief operating officer this week.

NeighborWorks America, a nonprofit devoted to community development, says Wehrwein will oversee all field operations, national programs, applied research, training and organizational assessment and information management, the nonprofit said.

He will report to CEO Eileen Fitzgerald.

“Chuck’s experience and leadership – in public, private and nonprofit sectors – will enhance the ability of NeighborWorks America and the NeighborWorks network to help individuals and families around the country strengthen their housing and financial well being, and in the process build stronger neighborhoods one home at a time,” said CEO Eileen Fitzgerald. “Moreover, Chuck’s track record of establishing successful partnerships in the public and private sectors will add momentum to our efforts to advance community development across the board.”
