NAR appoints new Federal political contact

Lauretta Martin, one of the founding members of US REO Partners, was appointed as the National Association of Realtors’ federal political contact for the 113th Congress. In this new role, she will work to advance real estate issues in Congress during its two-year cycle.

Martin will play a key role in reaching congressional representatives on behalf of Realtors, ensuring their concerns are not only heard, but addressed.

She will also be responsible for attending local meetings as well as those in Washington D.C. in order to develop contact teams.

Since the NAR position is volunteer-based, Martin will continue to serve as a broker with Los Angeles-based TMG Properties.

“I am excited about the position and will disseminate crucial congressional updates regarding the real estate industry that will affect how we manage our businesses,” Martin said.

Martin will hold an important role at a time when so many changes are being made to the real estate industry. It will be crucial for members of Congress to hear the perspective of real estate professionals.

“I plan to tap the knowledge base of our elite group of members in US REO Partners in order to provide input directly to our legislators,” Martin added. “I believe the reputation, experience and integrity of our members will increase our credibility on The Hill.”
