Morgan Stanley property unit plans to raise up to $3B

Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds — the mega bank’s real estate unit — is seeking to raise between $1 billion and $3 billion for a global property fund, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Morgan Stanley (MS) executives are in talks with pension funds and other investors. The company is hoping that China Investment Corp. will become an anchor investor, Reuters noted.
