LPS appoints Hugh Harris CEO, president

Lender Processing Services appointed Hugh Harris president and CEO Wednesday, filling a role left vacant by the resignation of former CEO Jeffrey Carbiener in July. Carbiener resigned from his role more than two months ago, citing significant health-related reasons. Lee Kennedy, executive chairman of the board, stepped in as interim CEO to carry the company through the transition. Harris’ appointment became effective Wednesday. He previously served as president of the Financial Services Technology division at Fidelity National Financial and Fidelity National Information Services, prior to the latter company’s spinoff of Lender Processing Services. The Jacksonville, Fla.-based company said Harris also served as CEO and president of HomeSide Lending Inc., where he oversaw full-service mortgage companies. During his time in the mortgage space, Harris has served as president of Mortgage Corporation of the South, as well as vice chairman of BancBoston Mortgage Corp. “LPS provides the mortgage industry’s broadest and most comprehensive range of technology and services. Our clients, which include the top 50 lenders and servicers in the country, rely on LPS to deliver these solutions, which are critical to the industry and to our clients’ ability to provide superior service to their customers,” said Harris. “I look forward to working with our employees, shareholders and customers to build a stronger and more competitive LPS,” he added.
