Mortimer Zuckerman will remain executive chairman of Boston Properties (BXP), but will step down as chief executive officer, according to the company.

Owen Thomas of Lehman Brothers Holdings will be Zuckerman’s successor. Thomas has overseen the sales of assets including Archstone Inc. to Equity Residential (EQR) and AvalonBay Communities (AVB).
