Keynote: René Rodriguez

Renowned speaker René Rodriguez shows attendees how to practically apply his proprietary AMPLIFII formula to achieve maximum influence through a hands-on workshop.

Here is a small preview of the session, which has been lightly edited for length and clarity:

René Rodriguez: What a lot of people don’t understand is that everything that you do, either contributes to, or takes away from your influx, your body language, facial expressions, voice inflections, sequence of language, micro-expressions, timing, all of it is part of the equation of leadership. And I’m not talking about public speaking, storytelling, or even inspiration. All of those are a means by which we achieve what we’re all here to learn, which is influence. On this journey, I’m going to give you the tools that I’ve gathered over the last 20 years and reveal the secrets of the world’s most powerful communicators.

So let’s understand that and see what’s going on here. So this reptilian brain, this is what goes on when we’re high-level stress. And so stress happens all the time. I have a phobia of bees, people that know me know that I don’t like bees. I don’t have an allergic reaction to bees, I’m not going to die if I get stung. But for some reason, I act in a very irrational way when bees enter the room. And so this stress response isn’t always accurate. I teach in my AMPLIFII course public speaking. Getting up in front of the room, people act in this reptilian brain as if they’re going to die. Now, logically, they’re going to die. Not at all. But the sense of being judged does create that level of stress, and so we act accordingly.
