ING Capital Markets Head Jumps to Risk Mitigation Provider Digital Risk

Veteran securitization market expert Bruce Miller, previously managing director and group head at ING Capital Markets and the founder of Credit Suisse First Boston’s original conduit and credit products group, has joined Digital Risk, LLC, a New York-based risk mitigation solutions firm. According to a press statement put out by the firm, Miller will lead Digital Risk’s structured finance consultancy, with responsibility for assisting the company’s clients with their risk mitigation and mortgage performance optimization strategies. “It is not an exaggeration to say that every mortgage originated in the last four years should have the kind of third-party quality forensic review,” Miller said, in discussing his new role. Digital Risk offers data mining, analytics, forensic review and advisory services to insurance companies, investment banks, hedge funds, alternative/distressed asset investors, monoline insurers, and others. “Our clients want to know how ugly their mortgage holdings are and, in some cases, whether we can help them put back mortgage assets in breach claims,” Miller said. “Even participants who are invested for the long term and holding assets need to know values, and may want to be proactive in directing servicing efforts.” Before joining CSFB, Miller headed up the U.S. securitization business at The Daiwa Bank, LTD. He has advised clients in the securitization of most consumer and commercial asset classes, and has originated, structured, and executed securitized financings in the ABCP conduit, public ABS, private placement, and bank markets. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. John’s University and an MBA with a concentration in finance, from New York University’s Stern School.
