Guardian Investment Banking and Real Estate hired bank portfolio advisory veteran Hernan Magariños to work in the New York office.

Formerly a Director at KPMG Corporate Finance, Magariños specializes in asset analysis, portfolio valuation, and closing negotiations.

Magariños assisted clients on the sale and acquisition of dozens of bank loan portfolios with an aggregate value totaling more than $20 billion. He worked primarily on the dispositions of commercial and residential mortgages, C&I loans, structured notes, unsecured loans and REO portfolios.

"I'm thrilled to be joining the team at Guardian," Mr. Magariños said. "They have developed a great reputation across the industry and have been executing on some large-scale loan portfolios in a new and unique way. My background and experience in providing sell-side and buy-side assistance on portfolio transactions will add new perspective and depth to Guardian's already proven process."

Before becoming a Director at KPMG Corporate Finance, Magariños was the Americas leader of Price Waterhouse Coopers distressed debt group.
