Foreclosure avoidance becomes focus in Michigan

The streets of Detroit clearly show the aftermath of the foreclosure crisis, with distressed and falling apart homes lining the streets of certain neighborhoods.

To combat the issue, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority plans to launch a program called “Step Forward Michigan” to support homeowners who cannot cover their monthly payments.

The idea is to save families and neighborhoods by stopping foreclosures early on in the process.
