In a push for increased transparency, Fannie Mae plans to provide loan-level data on single-family mortgage-backed securities to help investors.
The government-sponsored enterprise will make the data available this quarter and then follow up with monthly updates.
Fannie will host the loan-level data files on its enhanced version of PoolTalk, the GSE’s online disclosure application. The first data covers new issue pool statistics, new issue loan collateral statements and loan-level disclosure files.
The subsequent monthly reports will provide adjustable-rate mortgage statistics, as well as data on MBS, interest-only loans, and fixed-rate mortgages. Other MBS related files that will be disclosed include trust documents, prospectus for the securities and any supplements tied to the prospectus.
