DUMBO takes flight in multifamily housing

The DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) section of Brooklyn undergoes an influx of multifamily and commercial housing developments with the coming spring season.

As a new condominium building opens in the 200 block of Water Street, the Two Trees Management building will close for renovations that would create about 100 rental apartments. David Walentas, founder of Two Trees, expects the updated building to reopen in the next year.

Walentas also said that a 400-unit project, adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge, would begin construction in July.

These new developments, as well as other renovations happening in the Brooklyn-Manhattan area, are part of a “residential rebirth” plan for the area.
