DOJ sues Golden First Mortgage for fraud

The Department of Justice filed a civil lawsuit in Manhattan federal court against Golden First Mortgage for allegedly tricking the federal government into insuring poor quality home loans.

The DOJ on Thursday sued the company for costing taxpayers millions of dollars, an article from Fox Business reported.

Golden First Mortgage and its president David Movtady are accused of repeatedly lying to the government between 2002 and 2010 to win Federal Housing Administration insurance for home loans.
