With Mary Jo White departing for the Securities and Exchange Commission, Debevoise & Plimpton named Mary Beth Hogan as co-chair of its litigation department. Hogan has built a practice focused on the mortgage industry, including investigations into mortgage-backed securities.

The new role for Hogan will make her one of Wall Street’s top lawyers. Hogan has represented JPMorgan Chase (JPM), UBS (UBS) and the Carlyle Group, among other financial giants.
