Arizona allowed to balance budget with mortgage settlement funds

An appellate court in Arizona says state officials acted legally when they used $50 million from the state’s interest in the national mortgage settlement to balance Arizona’s budget.

The transaction was questioned by attorney Tim Hogan with the Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest. At this point, Hogan wants to see the decision appealed.
