Concord Music Group has teamed up with AARP to create an internet radio service designed specially for seniors.  The new service is designed to provide streaming music choices to the underserved demographic of Americans over the age of 50.

The free music service, AARP Internet Radio, provided by Slacker will feature 18 streaming channels of music that includes a range of genres including:  blues, rock, jazz, classical, R&B, coffeehouse, oldies, country and vocal standards.  The service will include a featured artist channel that will highlight the music of one artist at time.  The current featured artist is Paul Simon.

“Finding new music and even old favorites has become more complicated and difficult for so many people,” stated Concord Music Group president and CEO, Glen Barros. “AARP is a trusted source of information and guidance. Working closely with them, we aim to help adults across the country reconnect with the enjoyment of music and the artists who create it.”

AARP plans to expand the service in the future to include mobile apps available to portable devices, such as smartphones and tablets.  As a companion to the music service, AARP also launched a new online music page, that provides a wide range of music industry information
 to help viewers stay connected with the music they enjoys.

Listeners of the service and information page are not required to be members of AARP, but members will have access to additional resources, including a chat room where they can connect with other music fans.
