Stearns Lending appoints new COO

James Hecht promoted after 4 years with company

Stearns Lending, a provider or mortgage lending services, promoted James Hecht to chief operating officer and executive managing director.

In his new role, Hecht will be responsible for overseeing fulfillment and for all production channels such as wholesale, retail, correspondent, consumer direct and strategic alliances. He is also responsible for leading and growing strategic production channels such as joint venture, consumer direct, builder, credit union partners and marketing and recruitment teams.

“We are very pleased that James is taking on this new level of responsibility at Stearns,” Stearns Lending CEO Brian Hale said. “Over the last four years, he has been instrumental in our growth and strategic implementation of our multi-channel production model.”

“James is highly recognized as one of the best and brightest leaders in the industry and we look forward to his continued success in his career at Stearns,” Hale said.

Hecht brings over 20 years of experience in mortgage banking sales, operations and strategic partnership to the company. He joined Stearns in 2012 where he most recently served as the company’s executive vice president of strategic development.

Before coming to Stearns, Hecht held senior management positions at MetLife Home Loans and Bank of America Home Loans.
