BB&T names regional president of Louisville-based region

Tom Eller promoted from regional corporate banking officer

Branch Banking & Trust just promoted Tom Eller to regional president of its Louisville-based region. Eller currently serves as the bank’s South Carolina regional corporate banking officer.

"Tom brings a wealth of proven leadership and experience to his new role as president of our Kentucky Region," BB&T President Ricky Brown said. "His extensive commercial and retail banking knowledge and commitment to the community make him an excellent choice."

Eller has over 27 years of banking experience and joined BB&T in 2000 as business services officer in Hickory, North Carolina. He served as regional credit officer in Asheville, North Carolina, and was promoted to city executive in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in 2003. In 2010 the bank promoted Eller to president of the upstate region in Greenville, South Carolina.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with our great teams and clients in Kentucky," Eller said. "This is an area that has great growth potential, and I look forward to the prospect of continuing our brand of outstanding client service in the Bluegrass state."

Eller also served as a board member and treasurer of the Spartanburg, South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Spartanburg Chapter of the American Red Cross, board chair of the Boys and Girls Club-Spartanburg, board member of United Way of Greenville, board member of Upstate Alliance and board member of the South Carolina State Chamber of Commerce.
