After being held by the owner and founder for over 30 years, the role of president and CEO at PEMCO Limited passed down to Kimiko Yamamoto.
Before Yamamoto’s new role, she was president and chief operating officer for the company since 2008. Yamamoto has been with the company for about 20 years. During that time, she oversaw the company’s HUD management and marketing contracts since 1996.
During PEMCO’s peak when it covered 26 states with about 100,000 properties, Yamamoto was responsible for orchestrating and overseeing internal processes and the mobilization of the California, Colorado and Georgia branch offices. Before the HUD contract, she was involved in high-rise building and construction management.
Recently, Yamamoto helped with the diversification of PEMCO’s service offerings to include residential real estate transactions. She also increased real estate related government contracting opportunities.
In addition to work, Yamamoto is also involved in different real estate related organizations and non-profits. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Hawaii Autism Foundation, Neighborhood Stabilization Capital Management and Hawaiian Springs Water. She is also a trustee for the Oahu, Hawaii Chapter of the Awesome Foundation.
