Here’s Quicken Loans entry into the Super Bowl ad bonanza

What do you think?

Quicken Loans added its name to the Super Bowl commercial roster, joining veteran’s like Budweiser and Doritos, in what’s not only the final face-off of the top two football teams this season, but the ultimate thrown-down of the who’s who in commercials.

The Denver Broncos are slated to play the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

What makes the Super Bowl such a coveted spot in the advertising world?

An article in ABC News quotes Tony Case, executive editor of AdWeek, saying “There are very few places advertisers can go to get a lot of people in one shot and the Super Bowl is it.”

"Last year the Super Bowl had a record 114 million viewers," Case told ABC News. "That sort of opportunity simply doesn’t exist in this day and age."

And this year Quicken Loans decided the join the Super Bowl commercial big league.

In its first-ever Super Bowl commercial, Detroit-based Quicken Loans created a 60-second TV spot, which showcases Rocket Mortgage, its fully online mortgage.

“There’s no better place to communicate how Rocket Mortgage will help Americans reach their homeownership goals, and in turn impact the entire economy, than during America’s favorite game,” said Jay Farner, president and chief marketing officer for Quicken Loans.

To keep with Super Bowl tradition, which leaves the judging to the hands of the of the viewers(because we all know we have a ranking of our favorites in our head), I’ll just leave the video below for your own viewing pleasure.

These ads don’t come cheap though. The ABC News article said that the 30-second spots on this year's Super Bowl telecast are said to be going for as much as $5 million.

For added fun, here’s another commercial to look forward to during Super Bowl 50.

An article in The Washington Post by Matt Bonesteel highlights two of America’s favorite comedians Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen, spotlighting in Budweiser’s commercials.

The commercial is meant to be a teaser to watch the Super Bowl, and it worked(at least for me it did).
