Another Monday, another Monday with no decision from the U.S. Supreme Court on the much anticipated case that will decide whether it is within the bounds of the Fair Housing Act to employ the controversial legal doctrine of “disparate impact.”
The case in question is Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs v. The Inclusive Communities Project, Inc.
The case is one of only seven that haven’t been announced from this past session. The next regularly scheduled day for decisions will be Thursday. If no decision that day, then it could come Monday, or in a rare instance – on Tuesday.
A good look at an informed cross-section of opinions is hosted here by the Urban Institute.
The case is considered one of the most important for this term, particularly for the housing and mortgage finance industry.
HousingWire is tracking the court closely and will provide the latest coverage when the justices announce the ruling.
