RealtyTrac announced the addition of Michael Sawtell as the company’s new executive vice president and general manager of consumer solutions.

In this role, Sawtell is tasked with expanding the company’s suite of consumer products while increasing consumer awareness and demand, RealtyTrac said in a release.

Sawtell joins RealtyTrac from Local Corporation, a local search and advertising technology company. At Local Corporation, Sawtell served as president and chief operating officer for 3 years.

Prior to joining Local Corporation, Sawtell founded Irvine-based DigitalPost Interactive, parent company of and Rovion, an online advertising company, which was acquired by Local Corporation in 2011.

Sawtell also spent an earlier part of his career at Local, helping to take the company public in 2004.
