Nationwide Title Clearing promotes Erika Lance

10-year employee will now serve as chief information officer

Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc., a post-closing services provider for the residential mortgage industry, announced the promotion of Erika Lance to the position of chief information officer.

Lance has been with NTC for over 10 years, serving in a number of roles. Lance has worked in human resources, the legal department, client relations and overall organization within NTC, giving her a thorough understanding of both operational and client needs, the company said in a release.

NTC Chief Executive Officer John Hillman said that he chose Lance for this role because of her “intimate knowledge of the process flows and system structure” for the services NTC provides.

“From her experience in in the company, she has had the opportunity to gain a valuable perspective of NTC clients and what they require from NTC, allowing her to insure client service levels are not only met, but exceeded,” the company added.

According to data provided by NTC, women held only 20% of the CIO jobs at Fortune 500 companies in 2012, and the company said that Lance’s promotion will “make strides in fighting gender inequality in a male dominated field.”

Lance said that she can draw on her experience at NTC as she moves forward.

“As someone who has seen the ins and outs of NTC as well as the industry for over ten years, I feel confident about bringing my experience into the role of CIO,” Lance said. “Furthermore, as a woman, it is a privilege to serve in a leadership role in a field such as IT.”
