The risk of fraud on mortgage applications falls 5.6%year-over-year in the second quarter, and CoreLogic Chief Economist Mark Fleming says rising house prices and healing housing market make property-related mortgage application fraud less likely.
Just a couple of weeks before, the big data provider to the real estate, mortgage and securities space reports that the volume of the nation’s shadow inventory is on the decline, but remains high as lenders and servicers work through a backlog. It is exactly this kind of information produced by CoreLogic’s Chief Data Officer Dianna Serio and her data operations team that makes this top-level information possible.
She provides the power for CoreLogic economic forecasts and also feeds the data provider’s flood valuation, capital markets, tax and geospatial businesses. “In addition to the data aggregation and processing responsibilities, Dianna and her team regularly develop custom solutions to meet the ever changing needs of CoreLogic’s broad base of customers,” a company spokesman said.
“She is the leading patent inventor at CoreLogic.” Her role is key to the company’s market position. Scale and quality is key. The result of this number crunching is instantly recognizable: Names such as the CoreLogic Home Price Index roll off the tongue. Last year, the data and analytics segment of the company reported revenue of $590 million. In terms of coverage, she has helped grow the company’s property information database to a level where it covers 99.9% of the U.S. population, the company says.
