Amy Brandt WIH

Amy Brandt only signed up at Prospect Mortgage in the latter part of 2012, when she took over as president of correspondent lending and servicing. Her task was a big one.

She was charged with building the company’s lending platform and expanding its servicing abilities. Brandt did that and more. Among her badges of honor was the actual creation of Prospect’s correspondent lending arm, which she then led. Within a year, she had been promoted to the role of chief operating officer, a position in which she oversees all aspects of Prospect’s operations, including information technology, credit servicing and capital markets. She also continues to cast a watchful eye over that crucial correspondent lending division.

With some justification, Prospect can claim to be one of the largest independent residential mortgage lenders. Life before Prospect, based in Sherman Oaks, Calif., was equally as fruitful for Brandt. Indeed, she bears an extensive pedigree in mortgage finance. Prior to joining Prospect, she formed Vantium Capital and Vantium Capital Management with private equity firm Apollo. In her role as CEO of Vantium Capital, she assisted Vantium Capital Management and third-party asset owners realize value in distressed portfolios. Brandt also led the acquisition of special servicer Acqura Loan Services and third-party asset recovery firm Strategic Recovery Group. Considered an expert in the primary and secondary mortgage markets, she also was previously CEO of WMC Mortgage. During her tenure, she helped re-organize the business, turning it into one of the largest nontraditional mortgage companies with originations exceeding $3 billion. Over the course of her career, she has developed a reputation for leading turn-around efforts and marching start-ups toward profitability.
