Banks overcome financial crisis wounds

It has been about 5 years since the financial crisis, and after a difficult first few years, community and regional banks are starting to turn a corner, an article in MarketWatch explains.

“In general, the smaller banks added fewer loans outstanding and the margins were down, so the loans were less profitable. All the products that banks sell, whether it was loans, mortgages or capital markets, were down, based on earnings reported this year in the sector,” said Richard Bove, analyst with Rafferty Capital.
