Judge tosses out Dodd-Frank challenge

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit challenging pieces of the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial overhaul, claiming the plaintiff did not show the law had an impact on them, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The complaint, filed last year by a small Texas bank and two conservative advocacy groups, was later joined by 11 states. It challenged the constitutionality of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the government's ability to wind down large financial firms and the Financial Stability Oversight Council, a group of regulators formed to oversee the financial system.
