First American delivers collaborative and customizable data, analytic, valuation, title, settlement and quality control solutions for mortgage origination and servicing. The company’s mortgage solutions group offers lenders a wide range of post-closing products and services designed to help perfect loan files

in the critical 30 days after funding, prior to investor delivery.

“Our mortgage solutions group is guided by our pursuit of certainty in lending and strengthened by the nation’s largest repository of more than 5.3 billion land records,” President Kevin Wall said. “The sheer volume of portfolio transfers and consolidation of loan servicing platforms has resulted in a tremendous volume of broken chains of assignments, and title curative issues. Our centralized platform and local market presence uniquely positions us to address this challenge.”

The company is leveraging its recent acquisition of Interthinx, an affiliate of First American Financial Corp., to provide servicing quality control and other loan review services for its clients.

“As regulation and complexity increase, servicers are looking for ways to not only remain compliant, but be able to demonstrate compliance controls and testing to regulators. Our comprehensive solution takes subjectivity out of the reviews and gives servicers the ability to act on findings and make their operation better,” Wall said.

First American has responded to increased third-party regulations by making fundamental changes in its organizational structure and has refocused its entire culture toward a defect-free process and customer experience.

“We’ve given a renewed look at all of our assets, such as processes, technology and analytics, and found creative ways to re-deploy and automate,” Wall said.

First American is lauded by its clients for the quality of its products and their ease of use. But the company sees its personal relationship with customers as the key to its success.

“We’ve built a culture around integrity and trust. For more than a century, the people of First American have contributed our personal best to accomplish more than we could ever hope to achieve alone,” Wall said.

That spirit extends to its employees, with First American being recognized as an employer of choice in 25 “Best Places to Work” regional events in the past three years.

“The future of the mortgage industry is dependent upon improving and maintaining quality. However, we believe that achieving quality with a customer focus is what’s going to set us apart from the competition and make us the service provider of choice for our lender customers, and ultimately, loan consumers,” Wall said.

Kevin Wall serves as president of First American Mortgage Solutions, where he is responsible for strengthening the company’s alignment with national customers, and strategically positioning the company to offer remarkable and relevant solutions for the industry.
