HousingWire recognizes real estate tech innovators

Posted by Christina Mlynski on February 5, 2013 01:11 PM

HousingWire is always striving to recognize innovators within the industry. After all, it's one of the reasons we got started in the first place.

Innovation and positive vibes are what moves any market forward, and the real estate business is seeing an emergence of incredible technology as the market recovers. HousingWire wants to show our support for those tech firms striving to make a mark, and those that still hope to make them.

That's why the company decided to launch the HW RETech:50.

HousingWire's editorial board will sit down, discuss and sift through nominations of firms within the real estate technology sector. We will then choose the top 50 companies and profile each within our June publication.

This is where you come in: If your company, your friend's business or a firm you admire has an innovative tech take on residential real estate, point them to our page to fill out a nomination form.

If you're thinking of nominating a firm, here are some pretty basic things to know about what we're looking for before you proceed:

  • The company must offer technology primarily focused on residential real estate -- either involving consumers or real estate professionals.
  • The number of years a firm has been in business does not matter to us.
  • When submitting a nomination, be kind, and include names as well as biographies on up to three key officers at the company.

Seeking common ground
by Janneke Ratcliffe

It is time to set a clear direction for the future state of mortgage finance. Despite low rates and stabilizing home prices, it is still too hard to get a mortgage to purchase a home.
