Head of multiasset investments David Coombs at Rathbones has decided to shift his stance on the U.S. economy after realizing that there are many bright spots including the housing market. 

"Something is going on in the US economy, the housing market is on a path of recovery and shale gas will be a game changer. How many green shoots do you need before you become bullish," Coombs said.

After taking a recent trip to New York, Coombs encountered various investors who were bullish on the economy that he decided to reevaluate his stance of reducing his exposure in the U.S.

Coombs noted that U.S. managers are currently focusing on domestic plays for the first time in years.
