Housing data starts have negative effect on MBS

Stronger than expected US data was negative for MBS this morning.
December Housing Starts jumped 12% to 954K, well above the consensus of 890K, and the highest level since June 2008. The multi-family segment was especially strong. Building Permits came in close to expectations with an increase of 1%.
