After more than 30 years, RE/MAX of Texas owners Richard and Jeanne Filip agreed to transfer ownership to RE/MAX of Denver. The couple owned the master franchise, with its 4,300 agents and 260 offices, since 1996, and will continue to own several individual RE/MAX brokerages. RE/MAX of Texas becomes the 11th Company Operated Region owned by RE/MAX of Denver.
“For more than 30 years Richard and Jeanne have been dedicated to RE/MAX, and after they became region owners, they built an impressive network of offices and agents across the State of Texas,” said Dave Liniger, RE/MAX Co-Founder and Chairman. “It’s difficult to describe the many contributions they’ve made, but more importantly, they’ve been loyal friends to so many over the years.”
The real estate company first came to Texas in 1977 and is currently the real estate leader in market share statewide.
“Jeanne and I have counted each RE/MAX of Texas Affiliate as a member of our family as we have operated this region from our Houston office,” said Richard Filip. “This is a business decision that was very hard for us to make, but one I truly believe is best for the entire RE/MAX of Texas region.”
The current staff of RE/MAX of Texas will remain on the job in their Houston office until further notice.
