Regulators approve BB&T's purchase of BankAtlantic

BB&T Corp. has received the final approval it needs for the purchase of BankAtlantic and will complete the transaction Tuesday.
The purchase was approved by the Federal Reserve and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., Winston-Salem-based BB&T ($32.55 0.37%) said in a statement, according to an article in the Charlotte Business Journal.
