Today's initial jobless claims has led to some interesting analysis of the numbers. Anthony Sanders at Confounded Interest notes that while initial claims are falling, the U-6 measure is not. And Floyd Norris over at the NY Times is emphatically arguing that the hullaballoo over the labor participation rate is overheated nonsense.
